The ascent up Evergreen Mountain features an elevation gain of over 1,000 feet, with runners ultimately reaching an elevation of 8,400 feet. Participants pass the four rock formations called the Three Sisters and Little Brother as they weave their way throughout the course. The Evergreen Mountain Trail Race features over nine miles of peaks and valleys. Runners will start at 8,215 feet of elevation and reach an elevation of 9,579 feet at the Eagle Cliff Overlook. Join us at Staunton State Park for a beautiful 20k trail race. Participants should meet at the Buchanan Park Recreation Center near the Pioneer Trail head. The course then shoots runners back out into the meadow to reconnect with Pioneer Trail to the finish line. From there, runners will weave their way up to where they will run through the trees along the foot of the mountain.
The first stretch is a steady downhill along highway 74. Runners will start on Pioneer trail and head clockwise around the meadow. This 5K/10K race leads runners throughout the rolling hills of Elk Meadow Open Space Park. Participants should meet at the Buchanan Park Recreation Center near the Pioneer Trailhead. While ascending approximately 1,500 feet, runners will peak at a total elevation of 9,000 feet as they cover this 13.1 mile course. This race is epic! Bergen Peak runners will endure the rolling hills of Elk Meadow and the strenuous switchbacks of Bergen Peak and Too Long Trail. Evergreen Trail Race Series CANCELED - Bergen Peak Half Marathon - June 3 There will be no refunds in the event of a race cancellation. Please Note: In the event of inclement weather or unforeseen trail conditions the race director reserves the right to delay, cancel, move or reschedule the race. There will be no water/aid stations on the course this Series will be cup-free. Please bring a reusable water bottle to the races. Please note there are no race refunds, transfers or credits. Distances range from a 5k to an epic half-marathon to the top of Bergen Peak (elevation 9,708 feet), a climb of well over 2,000 vertical feet. How tough are you?
